What is the biggest mistake? People saturate their face with every cream, wash, toner, and ointment they can get their hands on and in doing so dry out their face to the point that it's a sea of dead dried up skin.
We all know acne is caused by dead skin cells mixing the natural oil your body produces and clogging up your pores right... So when you get to carried away with Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid you suck all the moister out of you skin - and what are you left with? That's right a layer of dead skin cells which then proceeds to cause more acne.
Does This Sound Familiar -
Acne forms bellow the skin drying up the surface acne is only half the battle.

Moisturize!
Yep that's the secret, use moisturizer on your skin.
I know you've been told that drying up acne is the best way to get rid of it, but it's not. You need to keep your surface skin healthy and moist - now there is a right and wrong way to this, and you will want to avoid certain products.
First you will want to avoid oil based moisturizer because when fighting acne we're trying to control the oil of our skin not add more to it. There are exceptions which I'll discuss shortly.
Here's what you should be using daily as part of your skin care regimen.
Both of these are light and absorb into your skin very fast. If you're using any type of over the counter acne medication or you are on Accutane you must moisturize. It's not an option, and with either of the two products mentioned above you can apply as much as you as often as you want.
Here's a test to see if your skin is to dry.
Healthy skin is soft and supple, you should be able to twist and contort your face into any goofy positions without any tightness.
Now if you've done severe damage to your skin you need to pump some moister into it fast, and the best way to that is with a oil based product. Whatever you've got laying around will do, even baby oil will work just keep in mind that as soon as you get the elasticity back switch to daily usage of oil free moisturizer.
